Irbe Quits

Latvian international ice hockey goaltender Arturs Irbe on Monday quit Slovak first division side Nitra after conceding 22 goals in six matches.
“It’s clearly disappointing because he cost us a lot of money. I don’t understand how he is able to risk his reputation in this way,” club trainer Jan Plandora complained. “We can’t sacrifice the rest of the season to allow him to recapture his form.”
