If You Trap, You Better Win

from Terry Jones of the Edmonton Sun,
To some, Edmonton playing a playoff game using the trap is a sad day for hockey. Edmontonians have taken an immense amount of pride over the years when coaches were killing the game around the league that their team religiously refused. When the lockout ended, much was made of the new NHL rules bringing back 'Oilers Hockey,' as it came to be known. But to most fans, I suspect, this is a right now sort of thing. The negative right now is that they lost 3-2 in double overtime and are down 1-0 in the series. They trapped. They gave up 57 shots and blocked 35 more. They lost. If you are going to trap in Edmonton, you damn sure better win. They didn't.
