Like this was ever in doubt: Stevens will take over for Sutter who probably coaches the Kings for one, maybe two, more seasons. The best thing that ever happened to Stevens was coming to L.A., he was a young Head Coach with a lot of talent, but lacked a broader understanding of the game, players, and management that he has received from Sutter. Just like the Matt Greene’s tutoring the Slava Voynov’s and Jake Muzzin’s; Stevens learned from the seasoned old curmudgeon and will take his place when he retires (again).
