Video- Hotstove Tonight

My work is being done for me tonight.

IwoCPO returns for a live blog tonight at Abel to Yzerman and George Malik does a great job tweeting about the Hotstove Tonight segment.

Hotstove time: Friedman says that consistent rumor is that a group wants to buy 75% of Isles, Wang would keep 25%, Friedman won't name names

Hotstove: Friedman says $375 million for 75% of the Isles is the hot rumor. Person involved is trying to get capital says Healy.

Hotstove: Healy: Scoring up 1%, fighting down 17%, attendance is still up, with visors on etc. fighting is slowly disintegrating.

Hotstove: More Healy: scoring by defensemen is at an all-time high, 950+ goals, up by huge %, many possible reasons why.

Hotstove: Friedman says teams in running for NCAA defenseman Christian Folin: Minny, Philly, Wash, Colorado.

Hotstove: Friedman asked about advertising on jerseys given NBA comment w/in 5 yrs, dispairity in $ per team + ads on equip = no.

I will post the video when avaiable but George touched all the bases.

More on the possible sale of the Islanders from Bloomberg,

The team is worth $195 million, ranked 26th of the league’s 30 teams, according to Forbes’s annual valuations. The team had $61 million in revenue in 2012-13 and an operating loss of $1.2 million, the magazine said.

The Islanders in 2015 will move into the Barclays Center, the $1 billion home of the Brooklyn Nets that opened in 2012. Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov owns the Nets and a share of the arena.

When asked about Prokhorov’s potential interest in the Islanders, spokeswoman Ellen Pinchuk referenced a news story from 2011 in which he said he wasn’t interested in owning another team. Pinchuk said Prokhorov’s opinions had not changed.
