from Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal,
There is speculation that Joe Sakic will be the Colorado Avalanche’s new president, which would push Pierre Lacroix into retirement.
There are also rumours that general manager Greg Sherman, whose contract is up at the end of June, will be going too, but Sherman fired coach Joe Sacco on Sunday.
It is quite possible that Sherman could be leaving as well.
Could Brian Burke wind up there? Will Patrick Roy, Sakic’s old teammate and now coach/GM and owner of the junior Quebec Remparts, surface there?

Also from Matheson...
The Minnesota Wild likely can’t re-sign disturber Cal Clutterbuck for salary-cap reasons, so they will try to trade the restricted free agent this summer. As much as Clutterbuck doesn’t fight, which irks people when he runs them, the Edmonton Oilers should be all over this one. He could be a third-liner, for sure, and he provides energy, which was in very short supply this past season.
