An era came to an end yesterday when Mike Milbury made his last trade as Islanders general manager. The trade sent forward Oleg Kvasha and a conditional 2007 fifth-round pick to the Phoenix Coyotes for a 2006 third-round pick. Earlier in the day, Milbury sent veteran defenseman Brad Lukowich to the Devils for a 2006 third-round pick. It was a low-key way to go out for the man who once called himself "Mad Mike."
