Kukla's Korner Hockey

from Jon Rosen of FSWest,
Nearly eight months removed from the vertigo-like symptoms that derailed what up to that point was the finest season of his career, Hiller expressed eagerness to test his abilities in the 2011 NHL preseason, which begins Tuesday evening against the Phoenix Coyotes at the Honda Center.
He also expressed caution towards what was an extremely difficult ailment to diagnose.
“They already told me at the beginning the whole balance—vertigo issue—90 percent of the time they never figure out what exactly caused it,” Hiller said. “I think at the end, it was just somewhere like, all the senses between my eyes, my inner ear, my whole feedback from my whole body just wasn’t matching properly. It was desynchronized.”...
So please forgive the Katella Avenue faithful if there’s a bit of a knot in their stomachs when he faces his first shots in an NHL game, perhaps as early as this Tuesday against Phoenix. Training camp can only prepare one so much.
