Hey Mike- Was The Slapshot Music Playing In The Background

Many of you know a few of the Philadelphia Flyers attended the Kentucky Derby last weekend. Mike Knuble recaps the trip and my favorite part is-
We left Thursday night around 8:00 p.m. The drive was long, and we split it up the first night. We drove about six hours and then stopped in a parking lot behind a Bob Evans restaurant. We slept there and got up before we drove another six hours. Rathje fit well in his new RV, since he is all certified as a trucker. He owns an oilrig transport company up in Alberta, and that’s what he did during the lockout. It got to be late on Friday afternoon so we tracked down a hotel that had a spare room because we needed showers and a place to get out of the trailer and stretch our legs.
Can you imagine any athletes from the NBA or MLB taking a road trip like that? No private jet, we are not going!!!
