Hey Kid, Settle Down

Zenon Konopka was brought up from the Ducks' minor-league affiliate in Portland, Maine, to provide a boost of energy on their fourth line and play the role of a pest against opposing teams. Konopka is also an excitable sort who is admittedly wide-eyed about playing with and against some of the players he grew up idolizing. "When we were playing Detroit, I was yelling on the bench and [Brendan] Shanahan and [Steve] Yzerman look over and say, 'Hey kid, it's a 1 o'clock start. Settle down,' " he said. "For a half second, you look and see it's Yzerman and Shanahan and then after that half second, you tell them to buzz off or some other word I can't use now."
