That has to be a highlight goal of the year. Fourth goal in a row, between the legs top shelf. By a 19 year old rookie, that is what makes hockey fun!

Wow, what a slew of goals!  That is more than being in the right place at the right time…

Just a reminder to everyone:  Johan Garpenlov once potted 4 goals in a game early on in his rookie season with DET (at Maple Leaf Gardens?  I forget, I was pretty sure it was against TOR though, I remember listening on the radio to it because the game was not on TV).

His career high for goals in the season went on to be in the low 20’s IIRC.  So it isn’t always necessarily a harbinger of things to come.

Though to be fair IIRC also, Garpenlov was playing with Sergei Fedorov at the time (and Brent Fedyk, on what Kid Me had dubbed the Fed-Ov line).  I have no idea who Hertl’s linemates were, if they were quality at all.

I think Hertl has been playing with Thornton & Burns on the Sharks top line. Curiously though Thornton only assisted on one of his goals, the second one I believe.
