Sharks coach Ron Wilson said Tuesday before Game 3 of the Western Conference first-round series against Nashville at HP Pavilion that the story line on penalties in the playoffs has been overdone.
"It seems to be a fixation on the part of the media," he said. "It's not the fault of the referees. It's the fault of the players committing the fouls. I don't have a problem with it." - Mercury News

CBC Television has approached the National Hockey League about extending its contract and keeping Hockey Night in Canada on the network well past the current 2008 expiration date, according to sources.
Nancy Lee, the head of CBC Sports, confirmed yesterday that the network is interested in extending the contract.
