Helping Others To Beat Cancer

In any case, meet Sue Padulo a 33-year-old ball of energy who is the lifeblood of Puck Cancer.
A longtime hockey enthusiast — she plays the sport the way a lot of others play softball or bowl ... several times a week. Or at least she did until she was forced to give up the sport at age 26 to undergo treatment for Hodgkin’s Disease.
Now that she’s beaten cancer, she’s trying to help others beat it, as well, through her Puck Cancer program.
This past weekend, her primary fund-raising event of the year — the third annual Puck Cancer Hockey Tournament — was held at Glacier Ice Arena in Vernon Hills.
And by all accounts, it was a huge success.
But the tournament is just part of the story.
