from Chuck Pleiness of The Oakland Press,
Jiri Hudler is glad to be back.
Back home in Hockeytown.
“I’ve got a history from here before,” said Hudler, who returned to Joe Louis Arena for the first time since signing a two-year, $10 million contract to play in Russia last season. “I missed it. I’m glad to be back.”
Hudler, who arrived in Detroit on Friday, did not take part in an informal skate Sunday, but was in the locker room chatting it up with a handful of players and re-familiarizing himself with his surroundings.
“It feels great,” Hudler said. “I can’t get enough of this feeling right now.
“It’s great being around the guys,” Hudler added. “It’s unbelievable. I’m so happy to be back. I’m thrilled. It feels like I never left.”

“I did more lifting this year than before,” Hudler added. “I just have to get my skating legs going. I’ve been training hard. I can’t wait to get on the ice. I think we’ve got a great team going. I feel just like a little kid.”
Gotta love this little guy.

Detroit had hookers and firetrucks, but something was missing. Now it isn’t.
Also - I hope Downey gets picked up for GR/depth. I don’t think he’s used his options up and could still float both ways. If the organ-i-zation decides to get a grinder like Brad May again, they’d have him on the deeper bench.

no I knew he they were teammates, but out of all his teammates he picked bertuzzi and draper to keep in touch with. Bertuzzi wasn’t even around that long.
