I really wish that either the owners or the players were interested in cleaning up the game. If they were, the fines could be raised to amounts that were actually significant. These hits would actually decrease if the pain could be felt in the old pocketbook.

That’s lame, even though it was expected… Should be way more games, it was a clear intent to injury…
Either that, or Hansen has such a low eye-hand coordination that he shouldn’t be playing on the NHL at all

If he clobbered a roster player instead of a superstar, this would have been a non-issue.

I keep thinking back to when Brendan Smith was suspended 5 games for practically innocent hint on Ben Smith…

Who do you think you’re kidding besides yourself? Smith’s hit was definitely worse than Hansen’s.

I’m a homer and I don’t even think Brendan Smith’s hit last october was at all clean.

The only reason Smith hit Smith in the head was Smith’s pull-up at the last second.
Brad Stuart’s hit on Landeskog was generally considered clean on this site but not Smith’s?
Hansen is purposely swinging for Hossa’s head.
But no, there’s apparently a large difference.
