Kukla's Korner Hockey

from Dan O’Neill of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch,
His teammates have made the humble Halak feel at ease. And, oh, by the way, he has introduced himself by leading the club to a 5-1-2 start, shaking hands with consecutive shutouts over the last two games. You can call him “Jaro,” or you can call him “Zero,” just keep calling him.
“It’s been a combination of things, but Jaro’s been playing amazing,” forward Alex Steen said. “He’s been making key stops at big times. When we have a breakdown, he makes the save. He’s so sound, he doesn’t get stressed about it.
“There’s going to be shifts where you get on a carousel, where one bad thing after another happens. But he always has the same mentality back there. He’s just incredibly sound.”
