Veteran Bill Guerin, who had been skating with the Flyers on a tryout, was released by the team, he told CSNPhilly.com in a text message.

Ridiculous. This should not be how multi-cup winners are dealt with.
This has to do with salary more than anything. In regards to salary, Billy G made 2 million last year. Billy can still pot some goals on a PP, but he really has lost a step or two. At some point, you have to open the roster spot up for the young kids in the farm system. Billy would be a great addition to any team as an assistant coach.

I do hope he’s able to fill a specialist role for some team out there. Unfortunately, I believe he’s limiting himself by wanting to stay in the mid-atlantic region for family reasons. That’s not going to make it any easier. That said, he’s a great team leader, and I hope some team gives him another shot.
