The 46th annual Great Lakes Invitational has come to an end. Michigan Tech, Michigan, Michigan State and Colorado College competed in this years tournament.
After beating Michigan Tech to advance to the championship game, Michigan beat Colorado College 6-5 to win it’s first GLI in two years. Michigan was outplayed badly in special teams, despite scoring a shorty, giving up four powerplay goals in five attempts, but pulled it off in the final minutes with an even-strength goal to take the lead for good.
Defending champ Michigan State took third place in the tournament by beating Michigan Tech 5-3 earlier today. Michigan Tech has lost 14 straight games since October 16.
