Good News For TV Viewers

-The NHL’s most vexing officiating problem - Diving - is being examined and re-examined, in the hopes of producing a better handle on the penalty next season. Meanwhile, don’t expect any notable rule changes. League officials believe both fans and players need another year to fully digest and acclimatize themselves to the new standard. -Expect some startling improvements in team telecasts next season. We’re told the NHL’s pro-active, new TV guru, John Shannon, made an emphatic impression with team production people at the recent league-wide meetings. The results will be on screen starting in October! -John Davidson means business in St. Louis. He’s added Doug Weight, Jay McKee, Bill Guerin and Dan Hinote. Expect a vet goalie to arrive within the next weeks. How about Manny Legace?
