It seems the US is finally pulling into par with Canada as a hockey power at a number of levels, U18, World Junior and Womens. We still haven’t achieved it at the NHL and Men’s Olympic yet, but that is the next challenge.

I watched all of USA’s games.  Pretty awesome that they were streamed live for free.  So proud of these women.  They lost the very first game to Canada 3-2 in a shootout, after dominating for the first two periods.  So for them to come back after trailing twice to win the gold medal game showed a tremendous amount of poise, determination and character.

These are really very highly skilled players.  Canada’s goaltender plays on a MEN’s team.  Phil Kessel’s sister scored the GWG.

I always really enjoy watching this tournament and I wish it got more buzz.

Maybe Phil Kessel’s sister would play for the Red Wings?
