from Jeff Gordon of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch,
Armstrong does not trade willy-nilly, like yesteryear Blues GM Ron Caron. But he doesn't stand pat either. When he sees shortcomings, he addresses them. When opportunities arise to improve his roster, he acts.
Now T.J. Oshie, Patrik Berglund and even David Backes could come into play as a result of this aggression. Armstrong sent clear signals that he is willing to part with some of his most established players.
Moving Oshie makes the most sense. He has been a good player, at times very good. But he has not become great in St. Louis.
He appears to have strong trade value this summer -- due to the dearth of scoring line wingers available in free agency -- so Armstrong ought to give some strong offers for him.
Florida could be a great fit for him. So could Pittsburgh, where Perron toils.
Berglund has been good, at times, but never close to great. So he could exit. He is a size/skill guy who could also have value as a supporting cast forward, especially in the Eastern Conference.
