from Tim Panaccio of CSNPhilly,
Some media around North America have questioned the circumstance around his injury. Giroux said he doesn’t know why people were doubting he was injured on a golf course, the day he was supposed to appear in a tournament sponsored by the Ottawa Sun.
“I don’t know why [people think otherwise], but I’m not worried about it,” Giroux said. “Whether it’s bad or good in the papers, I don’t pay attention. People can think whatever they want. Right now, I just focus on my rehab.”
Giroux insists he will be ready for the regular season opener Oct. 2 here against Toronto and would like to get at least one exhibition game in, but there are no guarantees he will play in the preseason.
“I will be ready for the season, but I am not going to force it,” he said. “If I am healthy, I’m playing and I want to. I would like to get a game in to get the feel for a game first.”
He is still not allowed to use his hand for stick work, although he carried a stick all through his skating drills on Wednesday.
