Kukla's Korner Hockey

...but I have a source that passed this on, and it seems logical enough that it’s worth reporting. So after mulling over becoming a rookie rumour monger, I’ve decided to share it.
Trust me, this won’t happen often.
A quick rundown:
This individual suggested that the Canadiens were interested in Nashville Predators’ prospect Gabriel Bourque. A former 5th round pick, and a member of the 2010 World Junior team that won silver, Bourque has only 20-odd points in 51 games this year in the AHL. The same individual noted that Andrei Kostitsyn was the player Nashville was interested in.
Shortly thereafter, it was widely reported that the Canadiens would be scouting the Predators this week, a contingent led by assistant general manager Larry Carriere. The Canadiens have no upcoming games against Nashville.
Now, this is just a rumour, and rumours do not mean impending trades, but the logic is somewhat there. Kostitsyn is underperforming in Montreal. The Predators have many gritty players that could appeal to Montreal in a swap. And Bourque could be an interesting reclamation project.
Take it for what it’s worth: a rumour. And a pretty boring one at that.
But everyone likes rumours this time of year, so I thought I’d show and tell.
