wait… he has a NTC?? why on earth would he waive it to go to Columbus? I thought the whole purpose of NTC’s is so you don’t end up on teams like Columbus or the equivalent?

If it goes through, Gaborik reunites with coach Richards.

Unless he’s so tired of Torts he just wants out and will go anywhere, even Columbus.

That’s probably closer to the truth then we’ll ever know.

This would be the equivalent of Fil, Abby, Kindl, and a 6th, and it boggles my mind that we let Lidstrom retire without giving him another realistic shot at a cup, and now we are doing the same with Datsyuk.  This would have been a doable trade for the Wings without depleting the farm, you can’t tell me Ken Holland is kicking all the tires.  On top of that Columbus and NY will be in the same division next year!  Which you think would have made this trade even harder to pull off.

Seriously?  That’s really overrating our players in order to bash Holland.  With the exception of Fil’s big season last year, he Brassard probably average about 35 to 40 pts a year, except Brassard is 4 years younger and a former high draft pick, so he feasibly still has further potential.  Dorsett and Abdelkader are about even talent wise, but Dorsett is a lot tougher.  Kindl is better then John Moore, but John Moore is 4 years younger.

We view them as KH and MB want us to.  Flip is slotted Top line Winger or Second Line Center.

Abby is a Second Line Winger

Kindle QB’s a “legitimate” 2nd PP.

I’d rather have Flip Abby and Kindl than Brass Dorsett and Moore, ANYDAY.  I live in Columbus, I root for the sack of a team when they don’t play the Wings.. or haven’t recently beaten the Wings..  Brass had hype, never came through, Dorsett is a good character guy, energy guy, Moore was ALL hype.

Haha, okay.  The Wings players are garbage and need to be replaced, but when you need an excuse to bash Holland, there suddenly much better players that could’ve easily been used in a trade.

There’s a difference between garbage and not slotted correctly.  Abby’s a great 4th liner.  there are better but he’s pretty good.  I don’t think he’s worth 2m if it means we can’t get a number 1D.

I like Filpulla, I think he’s a greatly skilled F who doesn’t like to muck it up a lot on the side-walls but is slick when he does.  Always defers the shot to someone else, never drives the puck to the net.  Defensively he’s got no holes, very very responsible player.

Kindl I’ve always liked, wished he’d have got a better shake early on, thought we was gone for sure and with playoffs hanging on the line, he wasn’t getting consistent ice-time again and not very good the way he was being used.  Once he got a steady spot, he’s gotten better and better.  I’d be most pissed about losing him.. but for a 40 goal scorer.

I can’t recall EVERY being pissed at those players, just they way they’re used.

I usually agree with you Henry, but if you think for a minute that Flip Abby and Kindl ARENT better than Brass, Dorsett and Moore, you have never watched a second of Blue Jacket hockey outside of Wings games.

Gaborik would’ve been nice, but why would he ever want to go from Tortorella to Mike fuchin’ Babcock.

I’m am concerned about Gabs work ethic and his ability to work w/ Babs.  He’s worth a try in the offseason bc Wings won’t have to give up picks/players.  I’d be even more surprised if he resigned w/ CLB
