Frans Nielsen Fined For Slash

NEW YORK (October 9, 2013) -- New York Islanders forward Frans Nielsen has been fined $5,000 for slashing Phoenix Coyotes forward Martin Hanzal in NHL Game No. 38 on Long Island on Tuesday, October 8, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 13:42 of the third period. Nielsen was assessed a minor penalty for slashing.
The fine money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
