Four Wins In A Row For The Vancouver Canucks

...The Presidents’ Trophy winners went so quietly into the night that the only loud sound at Rogers Arena was the end boards rattling with their defencemen getting stapled and pucks being turned over....

It was a free-fly zone for the Vancouver Canucks. Fourteen first-period shots included Thomas Vanek doing Thomas Vanek things — knocking a loose puck out of mid-air in the crease — and nobody touching Bo Horvat on a charge to the net to deposit a cheeky Sven Baertschi back pass.

And when Derek Dorsett destroyed Dmitry Orlov on the end boards to strip him of the puck to set up Markus Granlund in the slot for a three-goal cushion, it became more like a laughable SuperSkills competition. The 29th-ranked power play even struck three times.

Here’s what we learned as the Canucks cruised to a 6-2 victory:
