from Mick Kern of SiriusXM,
Have you ever been standing at one of those fancy buffets, and finding yourself unable to decide between the sweet ‘n sour chicken balls, spare ribs, black pepper steak, chicken fingers, cheese pizza and roast beef? And that’s not even mentioning the fried rice, French fries and mashed potatoes.
So you hover over the food trays, no doubt drooling all over the sneeze guard, as you struggle to decide where to begin.
That pretty much describes most evenings for the modern hockey fan.
Between the Centre Ice TV package and all the coverage here on Sirius XM NHL Network Radio, you can park yourself in front of the TV/radio beginning at 7 pm Eastern, eventually crawling off to bed sometime after the final West Coast game finishes up around 1:15 am…1:30 if it goes all the way to the shootout. Depending on your time zone, you either have an early start to your evening, or a late start to your sleep. Who needs a social life; you can settle in and watch wall-to-wall hockey practically every night.
Your thumb will undergo a Gary Roberts’ workout constantly switching back and forth and back between games. If you’ve fortunate enough to have multiple screens set up in the hockey cave, then your neck will bear the strain, moving back and forth and back like a goaltender trying to pick up the puck through a myriad of sticks and skates.
Oh the things you’ll see. Oh the things you’ll miss.
