from Anthony SanFilippo, the Philadelphia Flyers Inside Reporter
Despite the terrible start. Despite the fragile confidence of the team, Giroux still remains steadfast that the team will figure it out and turn it around.
He’s more elaborate now with the assessment of what is wrong with the team, but at the same time he remains the fearless leader. He remains upbeat despite all his obstacles. He remains focused on figuring out what ails the team, even if he is sometimes part of that problem.
“We just have to start doing the right things out there,” he said. “If we start doing the right things then good things will happen. We still have [68] games left. There’s a long way to go. Patience is still key right now, because once we get rolling we’ll get plenty.”
Plenty of points. Plenty of goals. Plenty of confident players who don’t dread a one-goal deficit, or who don’t dwell on struggling to get past two scores in a game.
“We need to get points and we can’t fall too back in the standings. We’re not too far from a playoff spot. We need to stay positive. We’re a good team. Once we start believing it and playing like it we’re going to be a good team.”
