-With all the fuss – and speculation – about Steve Yzerman’s future, one of his closest pals predicts that the Wings’ captain will hang up his skates after the New Year. -Best sign that there’s a wholesome thawing in NHL-NHLPA relations is Association leader Ted Saskin’s upcoming appearance at this week’s governors’ meeting. -Andrew Ference tells us that too much fuss has been made about broken sticks: “Somebody on TV got all excited and thought that the composite sticks were breaking a lot more. There’s a reason guys use composite sticks -- because they’re stronger and better.”much more
