Fischer Travels With Wings

He couldn't stop grinning. Jiri Fischer was back in the environment he loves … and misses. He was with his teammates, and he was cherishing every second. Fischer, who hasn't played since a heart abnormality nearly took his life on Nov. 21 during a game against Nashville, is traveling with the Red Wings on this trip to Edmonton. He is noticeably thinner. He doesn't know when, or if, he'll play hockey again. But the enthusiasm and appreciation for life is there, more than ever, and he couldn't contain his joy of having an opportunity to be with friends and teammates these next few days.
