Fans Understood Lockout

They were vocal and, at times, downright irate during the National Hockey League lockout that put the 2004-2005 season on the shelf. But Edmonton Oilers general manager Kevin Lowe is confident hockey fans across Canada are willing to forgive and forget as a rejigged NHL season hits the ice in September. "I think throughout this whole process the NHL hockey executives never underestimated the angst that fans probably had in Canada and in the United States and never took for granted the support they had," said Lowe.
