from Jesse Granger of The Athletic,
The Golden Knights’ proposed trade to send Evgenii Dadonov to Anaheim is officially under dispute, as first reported by Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
Minutes before Monday’s trade deadline, Vegas agreed to a trade that would send Dadonov and his $5 million salary-cap hit to the Ducks along with a conditional second-round pick in exchange for Ryan Kesler’s contract and defenseman John Moore. The deal was intended to provide salary cap relief for the Golden Knights. Prior to the deal, the Golden Knights’ roster carried a cap hit of $96.5 million. They’re only cap-compliant because they have $15.5 million on long-term injured reserve, and they might need to make room if injured veterans Mark Stone and/or Alec Martinez return from LTIR before the playoffs.
But shortly after the trade was processed, the Golden Knights released a statement that said, “We have become aware of an issue with respect to the trade. We have been consulting with the league office. We will provide further information once it becomes available.”
Dadonov’s contract, which he signed with Ottawa in Oct. 2020 before a trade to Vegas nine months later, includes a modified no-trade clause with a list of 10 teams to which he cannot be traded. According to multiple reports, Anaheim was on that list. Dadonov’s agent could not be reached for comment Monday.

Its going to be interesting how this is solved. Maybe an envelope with some cash is left for Dadonov to find in his luggage with a note asking him to ok the trade?
