Everyone Wants A Big Bruising Defenseman

The Predators beat the seasonal rush in acquiring center Mike Sillinger, but they may not be done with their trade-deadline shopping just yet. Predators General Manager David Poile said the team remains interested in acquiring a physical defenseman in preparation for a run at a second consecutive playoff berth. Teams may be eager to make transactions before Sunday, when a roster freeze goes into effect for the length of the Olympic break. When teams return from the break on March 1, there will be just over a week before the March 9 trading deadline.
