Kukla's Korner Hockey

Evening Line Part 2

Both Lidstrom and Suter play left defense. Both have the same understated style. They both do everything well but nothing great.

-Josh Cooper of the Tennessean.  More on the possibilities of Suter leaving Nashville.

Uh yeah, Lidstrom does nothing great.

Lidstrom - the obvious first ballot HHoF member in waiting for the last decade - does nothing great. This must be a TN hockey writer. Yep.

Lidstrom does nothing great? That’s a contender for the title of “Dumbest Thing I’ve Ever Read.”

That may be one of the most “interesting” things I’ve read so far in this young offseason.

This is just a fluff article about Suter, who really does do nothing great, though he’s damn good. It’s a sad attempt to equate the two players as though Lidstrom’s career accomplishments somehow are parallel with Suter’s flashes of greatness and big potential.

As your comrade in the exile that is CBJ-land.  I understand how you feel.  Aaron Portzline represents the best Columbus has to offer.  Barf.

What a stupid comment from Josh Cooper.  I can’t wait for the harsh reality of the under-the-CBA-you-can-buy-only-one-or-two-good-seasons reality to set in on Nashville.  Welcome to Chicagoland you idiots.

Total number of seasons with 50+ points:

yep, basically, the same player, or not.

Yup.  The single greatest defenseman (yes, he is, not really debatable) ever to lace them up never did anything “great”.  Uh-huh.  Sure.

I bet Josh still thinks the Preds were a Cup-winning team too, and Radulov is coming back.

To be fair, he is a TN reporter, so he probably just started watching hockey this year, and even then not till after football was over.
