Evening Line- David Poile

"From a manager's standpoint, from a player's standpoint, we should be challenging each other to come up with ways to create more offense in our game if that is what we think the game needs. To me, that will be as important a topic as anything come March (BOG mtg.)."

-David Poile, GM of the Nashville Predators after the general managers meeting today.  Much more on the meeting from Dan Rosen of NHL.com.

added 6:51pm, Pierre LeBrun of ESPN with his recap of the general managers meeting is below...

The coach’s challenge was reviewed as expected, specifically the goalie interference part of it.

"We have had some issues with coach’s challenge," said NHL executive vice president Colin Campbell. "The issues I guess is that we don’t want to go back to 'toe in the crease.'"

Which is to say the general mangers and the league don’t want to go back to the late 1990s where a toe in the blue paint negated a goal. That was disaster. Brett Hull in Buffalo anybody?
