... if Tavares were to become a Leaf by next season via the trade route, it would immediately vault them into the position of contender in the Eastern Conference. That would have to be tempting for the Brendan Shanahan regime. Let’s see first what Tavares does, or doesn’t do, next weekend.

It would require a lot of draft picks.

But Toronto can afford that because their team isn’t that far off now

Seems to me Damien Cox is the guy who will say anything/everything because he’s bound to right about something sooner or later.

Plus it’s easy to put out “rumors” when you throw ‘If’ at the beginning…...

“IF” McDavid were to become a leaf by the trade route it would vault them into playoff position too. See how easy that is? I should be an insider.

IF… DET could trade Ericsson and Glendening for Stamkos and Hedman…. they’d be a team to reckon with.
