Evening Line- Bill Daly

"Even if the IOC does everything we ask for, I think the only way Olympic participation in 2022 is going to happen is if it's really a part of a bigger negotiation with the Players' Association where we can come back to the Board [of Governors] and say we're recommending going to the Olympics and these are the reasons why. Part of it is tied to our labor situation and labor peace for an extended period of time."

-NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly.  Dab Rosen of NHL.com has more on the CBA talks which resume Tuesday.

So, in other words, it’s never been about insurance or marketing rights or stopping the season or risking injury to players. Now it’s a bargaining chip so the owners can wrestle a few more dollars out of the players.

I don’t care if the NHL sends players, I’m fine with an amateur competition like it used to be. But these excuses and drivel from the league are just tired.

Or, if you have reading comprehension, it absolutely always was about insurance, marketing, stopping the season and injuring the player and now the only way it’s going to happen is if the PA uses it as a bargaining chip.
