Evander Kane Suffers An Apparent Knee Injury

10/10/2014 at 10:45am EDT

from Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun,

Kane was doing his best to stay onside and Scheifele didn’t see him and went barreling into him, making hard contact with Kane’s right knee.

Kane was down on the ice writhing in pain, before he was helped to the bench.

After coming back for one shift during a Jets’ power play, Kane made his way to the dressing room for further evaluation and didn’t return.

“I’ll give you lower-body and we’ll find out a lot more (Friday),” said Maurice. “I don’t know. He’s going to have to go see the doctors and we’ll get a better idea. He was moving after, so that’s a positive. We’ll see.”

When asked specifically if Kane would require an MRI to reveal the full extent of the damage, Maurice was noncommittal.

“I don’t know what the doctors will do to him, but whatever they want to do to him,” said Maurice.
