Evander Kane In The News Again

In a way I feel bad for Evander Kane who met with the Winnipeg media today to talk about the traffic ticket issues he had.

On the other hand, just pay the tickets and stories like this would be avoided.

from Ed Tait of the Winnipeg Free Press,

Evander Kane said he is back in Winnipeg to make news for his hockey exploits, not unpaid traffic tickets.

And so the Jets winger said Thursday he has taken care of a pair of outstanding tickets after the Manitoba government filed a Court of Queen’s Bench motion to garnishee his wages in an attempt to recoup $650.80 in fines and costs. The tickets came after Kane was charged on June 4, 2012 for "using a hand-operated electronic device while driving a motor vehicle." That $249.80 ticket went unpaid, leading Manitoba Public Insurance to put a hold on his licence.

continued inlcuding video of Kane talking about the issue today...

I too am schizophrenic on this guy’s problems with the media.

On the one hand, it’s like “Do you guys really need to always hound this guy over petty stuff like traffic tickets/tipping habits/haircut/vacation in vegas?”

On the other hand, if the guy would grow the eff up, the media wouldn’t be able to obsess about this silliness.

This is why I’m not schizo on him at all:  he’s an immature guy and I doubt he’s ever going to change.  And it will probably cost him dearly in Winnipeg.  Him getting to be in Atlanta would have been the best thing ever for him because he could have stayed out of the spotlight honestly.  He will never, ever get that in Canada, especially Winnipeg.

Winnipeg also seems to have no lack of head cases/immature guys on their roster, do they?

I wish he and Patrick Kane were on the same team - not because their names are so similar, but because they’re both immature jerks. It would be fun to see what kind of awfulness they could get into enabling each other. Of course, I’d dread either one ending up on my favorite team.

This flock of vultures should definitely try to run the best player on the team out of town.
