Ethan Moreau Fined For Hit

NEW YORK (November 6, 2011) – Los Angeles Kings’ forward Ethan Moreau has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for boarding Pittsburgh Penguins forward Chris Kunitz in NHL Game #193 Saturday night in Los Angeles, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident, which occurred 8:27 into the first period, was reviewed by the NHL’s Department of Player Safety. The fine was levied for violation of Rule 41.1 – Boarding, of the National Hockey League’s Official Rules. A minor penalty for boarding was assessed on the play.

Where’s the Shanny video for the explanation for this one?

Moreau is looking at Kunitz’s numbers the whole time…should’ve been a couple of games.  Guess it was because he wasn’t hurt?

Is he a repeat offender?  This looks wayyyyyy worse than what Letang got earlier this year.  And can you imagine what would’ve happened if Cooke would’ve done the same thing?  The NHL would’ve immediately hung him from the rafters, then drawn and quartered him during the first intermission.
