from Don Brennan of the Ottawa Sun,
On a positive note, the full seats outnumbered the empty ones at Canadian Tire Centre on Wednesday night.
But that score was way too close for the Senators liking.
While the team announced an attendance of 13,215, even that number seemed inflated for the second home game of the season. A straw poll in the press box estimated 11,000-12,000 fans were in the stands for the visit by the Philadelphia Flyers.
Either way, with modifications to the 100 and 300 levels over the summer, capacity at CTC is now 18,652.
Clearly, those fans angry with the team for trading Erik Karlsson – and with owner Eugene Melnyk for that and other issues, including the plan to rebuild – are keeping their word by boycotting games.
