Emery Heads To Arbitration Today

There still could be a deal before today’s salary arbitration hearing for Ottawa Senators goaltender Ray Emery, but as of Monday it appeared as if the decision would be left to a third party.
The hearing, scheduled for this morning in Toronto, comes after weeks of talks between Emery’s agent, J.P. Barry, and Senators general manager Bryan Murray.
Despite the lack of progress between Emery and the National Hockey League club, Barry said there was still a chance a deal could be worked out before the hearing takes place or before the arbitrator releases a decision, which could come as late as early August.
