The Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with goaltender Ben Scrivens on a two-year contract.
Scrivens electrified Rexall Place fans on January 29th, making 59 saves against the San Jose Sharks, setting a new National Hockey League record for most saves in a regular season shutout and also set a new Oilers record for most saves in a shutout victory.
The Spruce Grove, Alberta native has posted a 3-4-0 record including one shutout since being acquired by the Oilers in a trade with the Los Angeles Kings on January 15th.
This season the 27-year old has posted a 10-9-4 record, including four shutouts and a league leading .934 save percentage.
Prior to joining the Oilers, the 6'2", 193-pound goaltender spent time with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Los Angeles Kings. In 58 career games he has registered a record of 21-23-6 and six shutouts.
In four years at Cornell University, Scrivens appeared in 117 games posting a record of 65-37-13, a 1.93 goals against average, and 19 shutouts.
