No. 1 Washington vs. No. 8 N.Y. Rangers
No. 2 Philadelphia vs. No. 7 Buffalo
No. 3 Boston vs. No. 7 Montreal
No. 4 Pittsburgh vs. No. 5 Tampa Bay
Anyone care to predict the winners?

I for one thing Washington is lucky to have pulled the Rangers. TB, Montreal, Buffalo or Caroline could’ve beat them, but I don’t see the Rangers doing it.

The top 4 seeds win their series. I don’t see any of the lower seeds pulling an upset, especially if Crosby comes back for the Pens. The Boston-Montreal series will be a treat to watch.

i disagree Lunvquist and rangers defense is playing great hockey. The only thing that rangers can’t do is score goals. IF Rangers can get three or four goals on wsh, washington can never come back. Washington isn’t a team that built for playoffs.

Boston and Montreal..as it should be. Thats going to be a fun series.

F Rangers can get three or four goals on wsh
That’s a pretty huge ‘if’ though. I think it’s much more likely that Washington’s offense can perforate the Rangers’ defense than the other way around.
I agree Washington isn’t built for the playoffs, but I also don’t think they’re going to lose to a team like the Rangers.

rangers have big guys back there on defense and they love blocking those shots. Playoffs comes down to three things, Goaltending,Blocking shots and scoring goals.
As for Crosby, Pittsburgh better off telling crosby to pack it in. The media is feeding Crosby is his own ego to come back for playoffs.
Who ever plays Boston or Montreal in second round is going to get an woumbed team.

Goaltending,Blocking shots and scoring goals.
Yeah, but it doesn’t do much good to block shots if you can’t score goals. Washington has too much firepower and the Rangers don’t have enough.
Again, I don’t see Washington going far, but the team that beats them is going to have to be able to fill the net as well as be good defensively.

Washington
Buffalo
Montreal
Pittsburgh
Washington wins this series rather easily. They’ve played much better D this year and are ready to take the next step. Caps in 5.
Philly scares me because I’m not even sure they know who’s going to be their goalie in game 1 yet. Miller leads an inspired Sabre’s squad to the upset. Sabre’s in 6.
As others have said, Boston/Montreal will be frigging awesome. Toss up, but I’m gonna say the Habs in 7
I think Tampa should beat a Crosby-less Pens squad, but I’m just not sure if Tampa has the D this year to win in the playoffs, and I think the experienced Pens pull it out. Pens in 6.

Washington- No contest
Buffalo - will pull out the upset against slumping Flyers
Boston - Bruins will wear down a small Habs fans
Tampa Bay - Im not sold on Tampa, but Stamkos, St.Louis, Lecavalier will be to much for offensively challenged Pens.

I’d hardly call Tampa Bay beating Pittsburgh “an upset”.

Since there are no shootouts in the playoffs and they have a hard time scoring goals, the Pens may be in trouble!

Pittsburgh will Unfortunately get beat, Because their season ended when Tyler Myers fell on Geno’s Knee! Staal is not now nor ever a 2nd line C & Letestu as a 1st Line C is an abomination. As Steven Tyler once said “sometimes you’re the windshield, sometimes you’re the Bug” this season the Pens are the Bug

Crosby hasnt even been cleared for full contact practices. I doubt he would be back soon.
Caps, Flyers, Bruins, Tampa.
