From Eric Stephens at Ducks Blog:
Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller on Friday said he is no longer suffering from vertigo symptoms and is expected to be ready for training camp next month.
Hiller has been skating in his native Switzerland regularly since July 10 when he took the ice during Francois Allaire‘s goaltending camp after 2 1/2 months of rest. The goalie, whose breakout 2010-11 season was wrecked by the symptoms that first surfaced in February, has been taking shots in goal against professional players for the last few weeks.
A club spokesman said Hiller called Ducks GM Bob Murray and trainer Tim Clark to inform them of the improvement in his status.
“I’m very excited about the upcoming season,” Hiller said in a team-released statement. “I’m happy to be feeling better and looking forward to getting back with my teammates. It’s been a long process but I feel great and I’m realdy to help this team win.”
