Ducks Can’t Allow Tootoo To Get In Their Heads

Ducks versus Predators will be the main event Wednesday at Honda Center, but Ryan Getzlaf versus Jordin Tootoo will highlight the undercard….
“The thing with Tootoo is he’s an aggressive player,” Ducks Coach Randy Carlyle said. “He’s going to go out on the ice and hit. You have to know where he’s at. But you don’t get into retaliation. He’s doing his job when he does that, when he draws you into those confrontations.”
When these teams met last month in Nashville, the Predators beat the Ducks, 3-0, and Tootoo thoroughly ticked off Getzlaf, who afterward said he was “sick” of Tootoo’s “embarrassing” habit of embellishing hits. Getzlaf said the NHL needs to “get guys like that off the ice.”
“I feel so strongly about it because I don’t do it,” Getzlaf said Tuesday. “I never have. You (could) never show me a tape of me diving anywhere, so that’s something I 100 percent can back up.”
