Gary Bettman will walk into Rexall Place this evening and not, as many anticipated, be carried in on a throne, like Cleopatra, behind grateful hockey fans laying him a path of rose petals. And we'll have to wait at least six years before we find out whether or not half the Grade One boys in Edmonton are named Gary. But make no mistake, this is a love-in. The NHL commissioner returned here yesterday like a victorious general touring the land he just liberated.
