from Damien Cox of the Toronto Star,
Most of the vulnerabilities displayed by the Maple Leafs in the first four games of their series against the Boston Bruins have not been surprises.
Most.
If there was one particular area in which the Leafs might have hoped for better but have been disappointed, it would be between the pipes.
There’s still time for Frederik Andersen to change this in Game 5, not to mention Games 6 or 7. If he can’t, the Leafs will go into the off-season knowing they have to upgrade the position, either from within or without.
from Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun,
One year ago, even after losing in overtime and being eliminated by the Washington Capitals in six games, there was a sense of exhilaration around the Maple Leafs.
It was a playoff series defeat that somehow felt like victory.
The possibility exists the Leafs will play one less playoff game than they managed a year ago and, should this series end on Saturday night at the TD Garden, it will feel less like a building block and more like disappointment.
