Don’t Come Back Mario

Why must writers question and even try to decide when a hockey great should retire? The decision should be made by the player himself, he knows how he feels and if he can contribute. Players like Lemieux should not be questioned by writers or anyone else, they have given their all to the NHL and have earned the respect to make the retirement decision alone, without any help from anyone else. from the Sporting News via Yahoo,
Lemieux has 22 points in 26 games this season but usually has been a shadow of what he used to be, and he's playing on a terrible team. Even without playing, he could have a positive influence on the team and rookie Sidney Crosby. Lemieux doesn't need to return. Not this time.
