Donald Fehr Addresses The Canadian Auto Workers

from Sportsnet,

National Hockey League Players’ Association executive director Donald Fehr reaffirmed the solidarity of the NHLPA when he spoke to more than 800 delegates attending the CAW Council in Toronto on Saturday.

Fehr discussed the ongoing NHL lockout, which is on its 84th day, and his confidence in the NHLPA and its members. Those feelings were reciprocated by the players.

NHL free agent defenceman Chris Campoli, who has been heavily involved in CBA talks, was in attendance at Fehr’s speech and said: “He’s our guy, he’s our leader and we believe in him. There’s not going to be a deal without him.”

continued where you can watch three videos from the event and you can also watch the 22 minute speech from Fehr below...

why do Networks continue to push Bullshit from a Bullshit artist who is playing a PR game while players who play an Avg of 5 years are going to lose a 1/5 of their career where they will never make that kind of money the rest of their lives ?

@evilpens

You don’t recall back in 2005 how the union caved and how weak and fractured their leadership has been ever since up until Fehr arrived?

You either stick with your brothers or go crawl under the owners desk and beg/service as a traitor.

There is always the KHL or other leagues for those fringe type players to make money in the meantime to make ends meet.

There’s not going to be a deal without him.”

“...or with him involved, but who cares! We only care about ‘winning’, just like Fehr.

What would the players consider “winning”?  The NHL taking their offer, without any changes or negotiation, just like what the owners want.

Seems hypocritical, in my opinion.
