Don Cherry and the CBC Profit Together

The relationship between the CBC and Don Cherry has warmed considerably. The two were fighting three seasons ago, but they're now in a cozy business partnership for the Christmas season. They have produced a DVD called Hockey Night In Canada Presents Don Cherry 18 and will share in the profit. The CBC provided footage from Hockey Night and the 2005-06 National Hockey League season. Cherry, the show's popular commentator, selected and narrated the highlights. Cherry was almost fired by the CBC in 2004 after making what were construed to be disparaging remarks about Europeans and French Canadians.
